Open your mind, work hard and transform
Hello! I’m Katelyn
I believe that every individual—whether a child finding their footing, a young adult navigating independence, or a service member facing workplace challenges—deserves a dedicated advocate in their corner. With a career rooted in empathy and evidence-based support, I have spent years helping people translate their struggles into strengths.
My Journey & Expertise
My work has taken me across various settings, from the quiet homes of Maine to the fast-paced school districts and military environments of Florida. Throughout these experiences, my focus has remained the same: fostering resilience.
My journey began in Maine, where I spent years entering the homes of families to provide intensive behavioral support for children and teens aged 3 to 18. During this time, I specialized in navigating complex diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD, DMDD, and RAD. I quickly learned that healing is a family affair; I worked hand-in-hand with parents to implement behavior modification techniques while guiding youth through the heavy fog of suicidal ideation, anxiety, and depression. My goal was to move beyond just managing symptoms—I wanted to help these families find a sense of harmony and mutual understanding.
When I transitioned to Florida, my mission expanded into the world of juvenile justice and foster care. Working within a DJJ commitment program and the National Youth Advocate Program, I became a bridge for foster children and their parents, focusing on the deep-rooted issues of trauma, attachment, and body image. I walked alongside youth as they navigated the "aging out" process, providing the mentorship and life-skills coaching—like budgeting and college applications—necessary for them to successfully reintegrate into society.
Within the school district, I focused on the "middle and high school brain," helping students understand the intersection of their emotions and actions. Whether I’m leading groups on social cues or working individually on self-advocacy, I am dedicated to ensuring students don’t just survive school, but thrive within it. Parallel to my work with youth, my military career as an Equal Opportunity Director allows me to serve those who protect us. I provide a confidential, compassionate space for military members and their families to process claims of discrimination and harassment, offering the mediation needed to ensure a safe and equitable workplace for all.
Clinical Approaches & Modalities
I don’t just "talk"; I work with you to build a practical toolkit for life. I integrate a variety of evidence-based modalities tailored to your unique needs:
CBT & DBT: To help you manage intense emotions, challenge negative thought patterns, and build mindfulness.
TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused): Specifically used to help youth and foster children process and heal from past trauma and attachment wounds.
Motivational Interviewing & Coaching: Perfect for young adults and students who need that extra spark of intrinsic motivation and accountability to reach their next life milestone.
Strength-Based & Family Systems: I look at the whole picture—focusing on what is right with you rather than just what is "wrong," and working with families to ensure the home remains a place of cohesion and support.
How I Can Help You
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. My experience has taught me that true growth happens through accountability, motivation, and understanding how the brain and body work together. Whether we are working on social cues in a group setting or navigating a complex life transition individually, I am here to provide the tools, coaching, and mediation you need to move forward.
Let’s work together to find your direction and reclaim your peace.
